    Deborah Lindeen, MA, LPC, ATR-BC

Congratulations on completing your LPC coursework and exam!  In choosing a supervisor, you will want to know that you are choosing someone who is experienced and knowledgeable, and able to strike that delicate balance in which you feel secure yet challenged to grow.  I have successfully supervised the work of over 20 talented interns and consider supervision to be an important aspect of my practice.  My emphasis is on helping you to develop your own professional identity in a safe forum for learning.  You will be encouraged to bring your counseling experiences forward to sharpen your skills in diagnosing and conceptualizing cases, building therapeutic alliances, designing interventions, treatment planning, compliance issues, and developing referral sources.  Supervision is a lively and engaged process, as you discover your strengths, preferences and individual counseling style.  My broad experience includes working in private practice, schools, and hospitals, art therapy, couples counseling, trauma counseling and EMDR, and faith-based counseling.  Group and individual supervision are available.  Please contact me for a complimentary initial meeting to explore your supervision goals.

    Sherell Hebert, LPC-S

Selecting an LPC Supervisor is one of the most important decisions you will make in beginning your career. Your supervisor should mirror your professional goals. He/she should have experience with a variety of issues and with diverse populations. Your supervisor should also be someone with whom you feel comfortable enough to go to for guidance and assistance.
Sherell worked in the school system for sixteen years, teaching every grade from kindergarten thru 12th grade. She worked as a Special Education teacher and facilitated a program for children with behavioral and emotional disorders. She was also a school guidance counselor. Now as an LPC Supervisor, Sherell offers her knowledge and experience in the areas of school counseling, professional counseling and hypnotherapy (Sherell is a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist.)
An exciting feature that Sherell offers to interns is the option of participating in

supervision via Skype (in accordance with rules set forth by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors).  If you would like more information about supervision with Sherell, visit her website at www.houstoncounselor.me, email her at: sherell@houstoncounselor.me or contact her by

    phone at 832-356-8549.

The purpose of an internship is to bridge that gap between academic learning and practical application, and to ensure that you are well-equipped to function in the best interests of your clients and the profession both now and in the future.  Thus, deciding on your LPC supervisor is one of the most important career decisions you'll make.
